Model Abstraction

This example was derived from the water network of the City of Courtenay. Elevation data for the junction heights was taken from here.

City of Courtenay Model

A lot more detail regarding how to set up a model can be found on the Gas Distribution Network Example, the main reason for this example is to showcase the scale of networks Pipeline Engineer is capable of handling. The model created contains over 11 000 demand nodes and over 22 000 pipes.

Pipeflow Results

Pictured below are the results of a pipeflow run for this network. On a computer with 32GB of RAM and an 8 core processor, this pipeflow took roughly 2 minutes and 48 seconds to run.
